Perpetua and Felicity lived in Carthage in the 3rd century.

Perpetua was a noblewoman, and Felicity was her slave. Learning of the Gospel so completely transformed their lives that they refused to live as master and slave any longer. Instead, Perpetua and Felicity lived and died as sisters.

When they were both in their early 20s and new mothers, they died for their faith at the hands of the Roman Empire. Perpetua kept a lengthy diary, and their story of faith has encouraged and challenged many throughout the centuries.
